The NN Email List And User Group
A systemwide email alias "nn" is set up for the group (in the file
cs:/u/nn/aliases/nn). You can check who is on the list by saying
"showalias nn" on a cs host. We use the list for various
announcements and general discussion about neural nets. If you'd like
to be on the list, send email to risto; however, the list is intended
for people who are actively participating in the group by attending
meetings, presenting their research, etc. I clean it up periodically,
but if you like, you can stay on it even after you graduate. Email to
the nn alias during the current year is archived in cs:/u/nn/mailbox, and
for previous years in cs:/u/nn/mail/mailbox-*.
You should also belong to the user group "nn" so that you can access
the various files maintained by the group. Check by saying "groups
username"; if nn is not one of the groups that will show up, send
email to risto.
There are other email lists as well at UTCS and UT in general that you
may want to consider joining, including those of the Machine Learning
Laboratory, Center for Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience,
Good Systems, etc. The traffic is low, mostly annoucements about talks
and other events on campus that you may want to participate in sometimes.
